Over 15,000 professionals connected since 2011
South Florida’s Black Professionals Network boasts a reach of over 15,000 local black professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners and college students connected to thousands more by way of our online resources which include the top social media platforms.
According to our survey data, most of our members and followers find themselves isolated or one of a few in their workplaces and neighborhoods and feel disconnected from like-minded individuals with similar cultural and economic backgrounds.
They are employed in a diverse range of industries; from politics to business to the arts to technology; they’re community and business leaders. They are C-level to entry-level professionals, as well as seasoned and novice entrepreneurs.
The size and influence of our members and followers according to global marketing research firm Nielson, is “growing faster than non-Hispanic whites across all income segments above $60,000” and they’re currently “enjoying a remarkable period of influence, cultural expression and entrepreneurship.”
“Their choices have “a ‘cool factor’ that has created a halo effect, influencing not just consumers of color but the mainstream as well” Nielson goes on to say, and “in some markets they represent more than 50% of the overall spending in key product categories.”
“African-Americans will be spending $1.1 trillion a year on products and services by the year 2015. This consumer spending would rank African-American Consumers as the 16th largest country in the world. This consumer spending exceeds the gross domestic product of Egypt, Turkey, Poland, Australia, Taiwan and more than 150 other nations of the world.” — Nielson
